A Milestone Achievement: Lexus Surpasses 10 Million Vehicles Sold Worldwide

If you've noticed more Lexus sedans and SUVs on the Tulsa streets, it's likely because there are more Lexus vehicles on the road. Lexus announced in February that it sold its 10 millionth vehicle worldwide, a staggering number for a manufacturer that launched in 1989.

Record-Breaking Sales

The achievement comes on the heels of Lexus setting multiple worldwide sales goals in 2018. It sold more than 698,000 vehicles around the world in the 2018 calendar year, a 4.5 percent increase over the company's 2017 performance. Groundbreaking models, like the Lexus RX, LC, and LS combined with the additions of the ES and UX, formed a vehicle lineup that luxury car shoppers couldn't ignore.

Additionally, Lexus' commitment to hybrid vehicles was rewarded as well. Lexus has now sold more than 1.45 million self-charging hybrid vehicles since the introduction of the world's first luxury hybrid in 2005. Total Lexus hybrid vehicle sales enjoyed a 20 percent increase in 2018.
